Burgos is Beautiful

Yesterday Matt hobbled 100m with me down the road so that we could both visit the Tourist Office and buy tickets to go on the tourist train.

It was quite a palaver getting a ticket. The train pulled up, and rather than paying the driver and getting a ticket, it went something like this.   The driver walked across the square and pulled up a shutter, you then went over to him to buy the ticket. However tickets were dispensed by a machine and so he took your money, then fed it into the machine and pushed a button. He gave you the ticket and change. This booth was only open for 15mins before departure. You could not get tickets from the tourist office. Once the 15mins was up, the driver closed the booth, walked back across the square and started the engine. Then he checked everyone's tickets and ripped them in half before we finally set off. We laughed a lot about this convoluted process.

We had heard from another pilgrim about a tour bus to the location of Dragonstone in Game of Thrones, and asked about that in the Tourist Ofice, but they had no idea.

The train tour took us up to the castle, to a monastery, park and through old parts of Burgos, it was fascinating. Burgos seems to be wealthy and thriving.

No news yet on what we will do, we've had several conversations with the insurance company, but no decision yet.

Ironically the weather continues to be beautiful and sunny now that we have stopped walking!
